Description:
Facility not licensed as a psychiatric hospital that primarily provides individually planned programs of mental health treatment in a residential care setting for children and youth younger than 18. (Some RTCs for children may accept persons through age 21.) This type of facility must have a clinical program that is directed by a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, or psychiatric nurse who has a master's or a doctoral degree.

The amount of services offered by substance abuse treatment centers / mental health treatment centers can be overwhelming at first.
